I am currently completing PhD research at the University of Adelaide on governance in complex projects—an area where traditional approaches often fail to meet the demands of uncertainty, diverse stakeholders, and shifting objectives.
My work integrates systems thinking, paradox theory, and contingency-based frameworks to create the Integrated and Dynamic Complexity Governance Model (IDCGM)—a practical, multi-layered governance model designed to adapt across sectors such as infrastructure, health, defence, IT, and engineering.
The research draws on an extensive Systematic Literature Review and is now in the qualitative phase, engaging with senior professionals across industries. It has been presented at leading conferences, featured by professional associations, and is the foundation for my forthcoming book, Rethinking Governance for Complex Projects: A Tension-, Complexity-, and Contingency-Based Approach.
Professionals with experience in complex projects are invited to participate in the research and share their insights. Whether you are a project manager, executive, policymaker, or stakeholder, your contribution will help:
-
Shape a governance framework grounded in real-world complexity.
-
Capture lessons that can influence both policy and practice.
-
Build knowledge that improves outcomes across industries.
